Since every game needs to have a reason to be a game, we sat down and where thinking about a fitting story for the game. Its not a super long book but its a base to build the game around ( settings, enemies etc). And maybe we could extend the story a bit since its not really a story but a little bit longer headline Wink. We couldn't decide wich one is better so we made basicaly 2 variations.

Variant 1
There was once a world championship in ProWashing. One of the attendees discoverd that he was way to bad in playing this game. As a result he captured prizes for the place 1 to 4, and hold each at another place. One could escape and tries to rescue the other three.

Variant 2
Just like variant 1 but the attendee who can’t play the game has stolen the washer rings from another attendee. One tries to rescue the others.

The kidnapped rings are all in different worlds. Like one is in the jungle and one in a ice world and the last one in a technics world.

I am liking this story. Two questions, is the bad guy who stole the the prizes a human? Or some other type of creature?

So, you move through levels, to unlock the next level, and after completing the number of levels, you play the final world stage to return that world's prize. Along the way, you unlock various special moves/weapons. And, perhaps, learn more of the story.

One thing to keep in mind, is that, I believe that people like to just jump into games, so, it has to have some semi quick levels (less then five minutes), so it would take around 15-30 mintutes per world, depending on the player's skill level.

Ok sounds fine to me. Any ideas what the game should consist of? I'm thinking about what things we could add as pickups, weapons and so on. We definately need a highscore table at the end of every level. A summary about how many items got collected and how many were missed.

Yeah, maybe something like what they did in some of those top-down shooter games in the arcade. Display what percentage of enemies they destroyed, etc.

Yeah, Pickup's/powerups/items need to be designed, I'm not positive yet what should include. Sonic had rings, mario had coins.. Ringo should use.. hmm, have to think about that.

I like the idea of a score/summary after each level.. Reminds me of Doom.

I was thinking, that, perhaps the main arch enemy could be a horseshoe like character - Horseshoes is remarkably similiar to pitching washers.

http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?p=horseshoes&ei=UTF-8&fr=FP-tab-img-t-t400&x=wrt

So, the horseshoe guy would be jealous that he was no good at pitching washers and winning the tournaments.. And, his battle for ultimate power is to control the game anyway he can.

Nice idea, but I can't imagine how we could make him look good. With a ring it was easier to attach things like the eyes, arms and mouth etc.
The horseshoes do not have enough surface I think. I'll try to make a drawing maybe its not as bad as I think Smiley

Btw, sorry I was pretty bussy the last few days.

I've thought about the lack of area of the horse shoe, but I think it is possible Smiley

And no worries about lack of time mate.. Your not the only one who hasn't been around here in the last few days much. I've been pretty busy with otherthings myself.
