New stable release?
« on: February 13, 2010, 04:21:29 PM »

I am working on a Free / Open source pet project under the GPL, and I'm getting close to the date when I will finally release the first public version.

I want to give my little game joystick and force feedback support, under Linux, MacOSX and Windows.

What is the state of the CVS code, regarding these features?

Is the CVS code bug-free enough to release a new stable version, and are there are plans in the next 3 months to do so?

I hope to get a new release out soon enough. v1_2 branch is pretty stable.

Great =]

On the other hand, I tried the current stable, and it detects my joystick on Linux, which is the minimum that I need, so I have started to integrate OIS. Force feedback doesn't work, but apparently that's related to the lack of support in the Linux kernel, but I will investigate more.

I don't really aim to have force feedback for the first release, these things are always a work in progress... but I'll let you people know when I make the first release, and from there I'll try to work on whatever issues there is with force feedback.
